Turning water into growth, hope, and dignity.

About the Farming for Tomorrow Project– Water and Hope for Families

From clean water to thriving farms— hope flows here

Every day in Burundi, countless families face the harsh reality of poverty, relying on humanitarian aid to survive. Hunger and lack of clean water remain constant barriers to health and dignity.

Through the Farming for Tomorrow project, the Munyundo Foundation is breaking this cycle by starting with what families need most: water. A borehole has been drilled in the Foundation’s field, providing reliable irrigation for crops and safe drinking water for the entire community. Alongside it, a public tap now gives families vital access to clean water, essential for health, hygiene, and human dignity.

This step is more than infrastructure — it is hope. For the mother who can now cook with clean water, for the child who no longer drinks from unsafe streams, and for the farmer who knows his crops will not fail during the dry season, the borehole is life itself.

While the community benefits today from clean water, the vision goes further. These irrigated fields will soon grow soybeans, maize, and vegetables. With training, seeds, and tools, families will feed their children, generate income from their harvests, and reduce reliance on external aid.

Farming for Tomorrow is not just about crops — it is a pathway to dignity, health, and resilience. Your donation of $120 can transform a family’s access to water and farming resources, creating hope and independence.

Clean Water Brings Relief

In Maramvya–Mutimbuzi, families are now enjoying the borehole installed by the Munyundo Foundation. What began as an effort to irrigate crops has also given the whole community safe drinking water.

One resident shared with gratitude:
“We are very grateful. May God bless those who brought us this borehole. They have done a great deed. They spared us the long journeys we used to make to fetch water and relieved us from the constant struggle and overcrowding at distant water points.”

Hope in the Fields

For families who once relied on aid, the Farming for Tomorrow fields are a source of hope and pride.

One group of farmers explained:
“When we are called to work in the fields, we feel happy because we know that tomorrow we will eat what we have grown ourselves. What makes it even better is that we share the food we produce.”
